pinamar

Pinamar is a pine covered beach town 300 km (5 hour bus ride) south of Buenos Aires. We took a vacation from our hectic city life and spent a few days there.

This town is more Seaside Or. than Canon Beach. If you have never heard of either of these places Sarah likens it to the Jersey Shore.

Anyway there are lots of beefy restaurants - some even serve fresh fish including white "salmon". We heard rumors of a party scene that began each night sometime after 0:200. Above you can see me during a typical afternoon escaping the sun and enjoying a hamburger and red wine or a cuba libre or both.

This is the town's main street. In the background is an outdoor car exhibit. Pinamar is apparently a summer showcase for new cars. Ford, Toyota, Peugeot, Dodge and other manufacturers displayed their latest models. Young attractive Argentinian car experts were on hand to answer any questions. Surprisingly the Ford girls seemed the most knowledgeable. Alas I do not have a photo to share.
