Montanas

Last week Lia and Franck hopped over from Portland for a quick visit. We quickly tired of the city and grabbed a plane to Menzoza to taste some fine wine and catch a glimpse of Aconcagua. We rented a Chevy Corsa and hit the road. Twenty minutes out of town and the road was ours.

We drove to the foothills of the mountains and found the Historic Hotel Villavicencio which provided the inspiration for my first major motion picture: The Shining II.

Behind the hotel is a steep narrow curvy road. Trevor drove as the girls offered friendly driving advice from the back seat.

We were impressed by the local fauna.

And the free range Argentinean beef.

Franck wanted to climb a mountain. That adventure would have to wait for another trip.

Sarah and Lia were just happy to survive the trip up the hill.

Argentina has a lot of land.

I call this one “Mountains Behind Lake”.

Aconcagua – the world´s highest mountain outside the Himalayas. Elevation = 22,841.
