Historic Snowfall in Buenos Aires

As a native of the Northern Hemisphere it's one thing to try and wrap one's head around the fact that here in Buenos Aires, July doesn't mean backyard BBQs with friends, trips to the beach or warm summer nights. It's quite another to see snow fall in a city that hasn't seen snow in 89 years! Yes, it's true, and by now I'm sure that you've all heard the news that it snowed in Buenos Aires for several hours on the 9th of July. It was quite the event captivating Porteños city-wide.

The historic snowfall coincided with the visit of our good friends, Tia and Tyler, who ventured down to BsAs to hang out for the week.

We had a fun week with our visitors from Southern, CA who not only experienced the historic snowfall but also weathered unusually chilly temps to explore the city on foot and take in some of the historic sights, neighborhoods and gardens of BsAs.

A more traditional Argentine event, we spent a fun evening watching Argentina's soccer team play an important game in the Copa America tournament in a festive, fan-filled parilla in Las Cañitas.
