We also had to revisit nearby Lago Gutierrez, a favorite spot from our previous trip. It was just as spectacular as we remembered. The fresh snow and sunshine made it picture perfect once again.

Around Bariloche
We rounded out our time in Bariloche by occasionally venturing beyond city center. One gray day during Erin's visit we hopped on a bus and headed to the other side of Lago Nahuel Huapi to Villa La Angostura. A cute little village, Villa La Angostura is also an easy access point to the Parque Nacional Los Arrayanes. While our plans to hike out on the peninsula to the bosque, were foiled by a previous winter storm, so we settled for taking the boat.

We also had to revisit nearby Lago Gutierrez, a favorite spot from our previous trip. It was just as spectacular as we remembered. The fresh snow and sunshine made it picture perfect once again.
The night before heading out to Lago Gutierrez, we went to a concert in Bariloche. The band, El Otro Yo, was playing as a part of Bariloche's Puerto Rock concert series. It was a fun show in a small venue and Trevor particularly enjoyed the concert. You can imagine our surprise to find the band on the beach at Lago Gutierrez the next day doing a photo shoot! Here's Trevor with the band.
Continuing to explore the area, we took the trusty city bus to Colonia Suiza, a tiny dot on the map near the famous Llao Llao resort. Colonia Suiza seems to be known for two things, the trail head for Cerro Lopez, a three hour climb with more spectacular views of the area and fondue. Unfortunately, because of the winter weather, the hike was out of the question so we opted for the fondue at the one restaurant in the area. Here we are with our cholesterol-filled feast.
After our gigantic meal we explored the area on foot. More impressive trees, lakes and landscapes as far as the eye could see.

We also had to revisit nearby Lago Gutierrez, a favorite spot from our previous trip. It was just as spectacular as we remembered. The fresh snow and sunshine made it picture perfect once again.
